King Ludwig of Bavaria left us a highly enjoyable inheritance. Forest upon forest of sweet chestnut trees which he had planted around his summer residence in the Palatinate. We at Doktorenhof have managed to capture and on the best parts of his inheritance. We collect the honey blossoms of the fragrant chestnuts and form a romantic liaison with our fullbodied vinegars. You can already start to look forward to the finely tarty smells of the chestnut forests, captured in the soft acidity of our vinegar balsam. It is an ideal addition to soups, sweet dishes, light sauces, zabagliones, duck and goose liver, pheasant and quail. Specifically suited to sorbets and gratines, chestnut puree and punches.
