This is NOT risotto rice!!! 40 minutes cooking time. It is a brown rice, hence does not absorb moisture! Soft aroma and flavour; very good as a side dish with fish or vegetables - hence the more delicate flavours. Not a great accompaniment for meat. The black grain rice originates from China but has for long been cultivated in the Italian Po valley.
